Homework:
*Practice your observation skills and learn about the world that's around YOU:
Learn how to visually take in the whole world around you... learn to always see EVERYTHING! Heightened perception is a vital skill for young artists of every age.
Pay attention to your senses, everything that you see, hear, feel, taste, and smell, is important.
When you observe the world more, you learn more, and you will find that you will become a better artist.
**Practice drawing what you see in the world around you:
Draw pictures of the places that you go, the people who you see, and the emotions that you feel.
You can draw portraits of your family and your friends, or draw the landscape that you see outside of your window. Feel free to use your imagination; you can draw pictures of the places that you wish you could go, or pictures of people who you wish you could spend time with.
You can practice drawing what you see by drawing a still life drawing of a bowl of fruit, or anything around your house that would make an interesting subject for a drawing.
You can also "think outside the box" and explore your creativity by drawing an abstract drawing using just lines, shapes, forms, and colors.
You will discover that when you practice drawing more, you will become a better artist.
So practice, practice, practice!!!
***Practice drawing from your imagination and what you feel inside of you:
Pay attention to the things that you imagine and try drawing them.
Pay attention to how things make you feel and spend some time drawing how you feel.
Great artists draw and paint what they feel inside, as a young artist you should practice drawing about things that make you feel happy, mad, sad, scared, etc. This is an excellent way to express yourself and your feelings.
YOU WILL BE GIVEN EXTRA CREDIT If YOU BRING IN AND SHOW ME ANY DRAWINGS OR ARTWORK THAT YOU DO AT HOME.
